All About Beauty
Long legs, gorgeous clothing, smelling so nice, wearing the highest priced perfume. A fancy car. The white picket fence …. and the visions of sugar plumbs dancing in your head!
Sure it looks great, but how does it feel on the inside? I have sat back numerous times and just envied that gal. Long flowing hair, perfect complexion, blah, blah, blah!
One lesson in life that I have figured out, is that the grass is never greener on the other side. Sure it might be well manicured, but what sort of diseases lurk in the roots?
I’ll stick with puke, snot, bad jokes and dirty laundry, greasy husbands, and motorcycles in my living room. If I was given the choice to give it up for beauty, there would be no choice. Hands down, I would stay where I am. There’s nothing in the world that can take away the beauty of seeing my children for the first time. The beauty that swarms a toddler when he/she says “I Love You” for the first time ever.
The real beauty lays in the hands of Christ, Joy, faith, hope, love. It has nothing to do with what only runs skin deep.
It can’t be lost, or taken away. It’s there, forever. Engraved into your heart and veins. Aging, and hard times can’t erase this beauty. Ever.

The Smile Of Sisters
Your daughters first catfish. Yes! We fish! And no she can’t pee in the woods! 
Christmas pictures, when you know your kids are faking the smile. 
A “stray” your husband brings home, that turns out to be a member of the family.
The love shared between a husband and wife. 
The blessings of a new family member.
Beauty is having a best friend, that doesn’t cry with you, she’s always ready with a shovel saying “Which way?!”
This is where, and what beauty means to me. I hope my words have inspired you to feel better about you, and blessed you with a grin today.

We Love Colors Review & Giveaway Ends 11/30/09
Lots of colors! Plain colors, bright colors, tie dyed colors. Ohhhhh the colors! 51 colors to be a bit more exact, and more than 13 unique splash designs. We Love Colors have items from kids to plus sizes.
Some of you know this, some don’t, either way, it’s no secret. I have been diagnosed with lyme disease since Sept. 08., I was reinfected in June 09. Not sure how long I had it before I was diagnosed. So I deal with “lyme arthritis”. More often than not, my legs hurt and ache from the hip down. I slipped the tights on from We Love Colors, and it didn’t feel like I was wearing anything, very cozy. Wearing the tights seemed to help my legs feel a bit better today. But that’s just me. I’m not telling you to nab these up for any kind of medical reasons, at all. But they did help me feel a bit better today. And I felt slender. Threw on a big tee, and slipped on the socks from We Love Colors. I’m just flat out cute!
The socks that I got to review from We Love Colors came in blue/green splash. However, that is not the only color choice available. They are nylon, and are so lightweight. If you have read anything on our blog, you know that I love socks! I’m a sock freak. I have so many types of socks, I couldn’t even begin to list them all.

The book is about a mom (Pam) who loses her 15 year old son suddenly and unexpectedly. It follows her though her grief, going through deep depression, and healing. This also introduces you to her supportive family and the love her husband has for her.
The book takes you to Vietnam and describes the poor conditions and the children’s need for help. This moving story tells of how they moved their grief to “Touch A Life” the foundation her and her husband have created to help desperate children in countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia, and Ghana.
The story of Pam Cope and her family is full of grief and recovery. It is an inspiration to anyone to change the way they think and to make a difference in the world. Our society is so focused on keeping up with the Jone’s and trying to be the best at everything that we rarely stop to smell the Roses.
I had a hard time putting this book down. I had an even harder time getting through the grief and the feelings of depression that Pam went through with dry eyes. I can’t imagine the grief her and her family went through. Her family’s first brave trip to Vietnam and the start of the healing process.
This book should become a required read for older middle school, and high school students. It would help show how much parents truly love their children, as well as helping them to see how fortunate they are to live in the United States of America.
