Tie Buddies was kind enough to send us a set of race car Tie Buddies for review, and are offering one of our readers their choice of Tie Buddies for a boy or a girl.

Tie Buddies are really cute, and a wonderful idea. I do want to start with there is a choking warning on the front of their package, I do think that’s responsible of them. As these are small, and if removed could very well pose a choking hazard.

These are an aid to help your child(ren) learn to tie their shoes. Not only does this help to learn to tie their shoes, it helps them tie a more secure knot. It’s not fun at any age to tie, and retie a loose shoe lace.

They are sized well enough to slide right onto laces of shoes, and little hands can maneuver them about. Creating simple stories with your child, and teaching him/her to tie their shoes can create lasting memories, and priceless quality time with your kids.

As I mentioned above we were sent Race Car Tie Buddies. Ours are blue squares, 2 with red, 2 with green race cars on them. The girls Tie Buddies are Fairies and Wands.

They really are so cute! And I think fairly priced at $8.99. Tie Buddies, ship quickly, and their site is rather easy to navigate. Easy navigation to shop on a website is a big plus from me. Nine step instructions are printed on the back of the package, as well as on their site in case the packaging gets ripped while opening them.

Around here these are worn about year round. The guys wear them in the summer to keep sweat from dripping down their face while working, or playing. I wear them when working in the garden, or at the river. And in the winter the guys wear them while working out side, to help keep their heads warm under caps. Tie back bandana’s have lots of uses, hair loss, bad hair day, sweating, warmth, under hats/caps. I have heard these called Du Rags, Do Rags, Tie Backs, bandana wraps. I’m sure there are lots of other names for these.

One of my personal favorites from their site, are the comb hair bands. My daughter loves the head bands with tails. They don’t seem to have any limits on what they offer to Cover Your Hair. Enjoy the pun.

With the holidays coming and everyone rushing to make sure their family is covered have you stopped to think of those doing with out?  When I turn on the news I am constantly seeing families losing their homes and have no place to go.  I see people who have no heat in their homes and up where I live that is not just sad but is potentially deadly (I’m not being dramatic, someone died last year because they had no heat).

Here are a few things you can do to help.

While You’re at the store grab an extra gift to add to Toys For Tots the boxes will be out very soon.

Clean out your closests and donate those old coats, hats, mittens, and gloves.  The Salvation Army is happy to receive them, Goodwill’s donations are way down and they need them, and there are many other charities looking for donations as well.

Clean out your pantry and stock a food pantry.  Go through your cupboards and get rid of those items that are still good but you’re not going to use.

When you’re at the store and shopping plan a meal, get the items for it and drop it off at the food pantry.  Call your local food pantry and see if they can take items that need refrigerated or frozen many can.

Those of us that coupon donate some of your surplus.  Our Women’s Resource Center is in need of: Sanitary Needs, Toothbrushes & Paste, Razors, Shampoo, Soap, Make Up, you get the idea.

Even if you only drop off one item as you pass by that is one need filled!
